it died... what next?

I bought a 22" lcd for 150$ last thanksgiving. Unfortunately, this monitor was made by the horrid company x2gen. it had dead pixels, and makes these weird lines occasionally. Recently, it is stuck in a loop of constantly going black and "auto adjusting" making it nearly impossible to use. I can make it work by gluing the power button down, but it is pretty much dead. I need a good monitor, atleast 22", that will be good for everything from hours of graphics intensive game play to using it as a tv screen (college) what would you recommend? Right now I am looking at this one on newegg. Also, my budget is 300$ but under 250$ is greatly preferred. thanks!!!

No, don't get an Acer. Get a Samsung or a LG. The Samsung 226BW is a popular monitor and it's quite cheap these days. Get it if you can find one

What about this? Is it a better choice?

Go for the Acer, its a nice cheap monitor that lots of people swear by, but maybe an Asus 22"
