Very Well. Still adjusting to SLED, coz im used to Ubuntu

Only choppiness ive found so far is fullscreen youtube movies, but I know thats an issue with flash because the same happened on my dell when running ubuntu.

wireless works a treat (YAY!)

Responsive to commands and well presented. But I want ubuntu on it

Right, first things first...

Fedora 9, as far as I can tell, is a no go at this point.

It white screens literally every time I try to boot it (I used Liveusb to burn it to a 2GB PNY Drive). Whether this is down to the method im using to install, I have no idea, but im leaving it as is for now.

SLED is already aggrivating me. I can seem to find any form of customization menu's (no compiz ), and its stock GUI is far from friendly.

Until I can get my hands on a External DVD drive, there isnt many options available.

Ill be putting XP on at some point because I need it for college. I already know that works, but I need my penguin fix...

You can use a bootp (PXE) server to host an image of whatever CD on the network and your HP can boot from that.

I'm pretty sure fedora comes with the software for it (most linux distros do).

I didnt have any other machines capable of that at the time. Thanks for the input though

Fedora wouldnt boot even with a cd drive, so i think thats a no-go.

In a quick update, i am officially running ubuntu 8.04 as of now. Took a while getting video and whatnot, but now its working like a damn treat.

Just getting some restricted extra's installed then its time to tackle the bloody wireless...fun
