It kinda bugs me that its so easy to level in this game. It had better have a large ammount of end game content.

I think we're all hoping that is the case, but what's wrong with fast leveling? You don't like making alts?

How's Bear Shaman faring against other classes at that level? There are two BearSh. in our guild that are higher then me and one of them just pouts the entire time saying he's underpowered...of course...he also said that at 30....and at 40...and so on. I'm rocking face so far.

Indeed...let's hope. Though, to be quite honest, I'm really not concerned to much. Like you said, alts... I am going to have alot of them. I love running around with my bow out on my BS to trick people into thinking I'm a ranger, and I love firing the thing too, so I am guessing that's the next toon I'll be making.

BTW, Mur, if you haven't done that yet, do so. People who usually give you trouble like a barb or another ranger may think of leaving you alone if they think you are one. I have gotten tanks to attack me because I just started out firing it, by the time they got to me, it was to late to run .

I'm in an all stygian guild on the EU culture pvp server I'm having much more fun than in any other MMO and i played most on the market!

As far as gameplaywise... Yess i find it more fun to actually BE the person swinging instead of autoattack. In regards to leveling? I find it better than WoW which was on speedhack

Since you're a high level (over 40) I have a question:

I read that you can only have 1 crafting skill...does that include the resource skills (mining, skinning, etc.)? Or is it just limited to the weapon smith, architecture, etc. skills?

You can have two crafting skills and you can obtain all the resource skills. Skills wouldn't be the right word for the resources though--you obtain resources through quests...or drops. It's kind of weird and I actually don't like it much since I am short on quest space to begin with.

Great game! Level 59 COnquerer on Thog server and this has to be the most fun MMO i have played. Very mature game with a great epic feel. Graphics are great with everything maxed. Funcom has also found a way to balance the amount of grindage needed in a good MMO.

For thos who complain about some technical issues, remember the game has only been out for less than 2 weeks.

my other posts in the thread go over some issues as well. but here are some other issues i have, as well as a few questions you are free to answer:

- every zone is instanced, which gives the world a more empty feeling, taking away from the "massive" in the term MMO

- player economy. not once through level 39 (almost half way through the game) did I trade with anybody, check the 'auction house' for anything. Hell i didn't even buy anything from a single vendor! everything is quest given! it's like being babied through the game.

- the loot system is utterly rediculus. the only useful items i looted were potions (which can be bought for cheap from a vendor, so they really aren't that useful) the rest of the items i found mysel selling to a vendor for.... guess what? more useless money!

...even in an instance (sanctum of the burning souls, level 37-40) we downed the last boss easily, only to find him drop a blunt weapon that was worse than a quest reward i got at level 30 (from Conall's Valley)

- tradeskill system.... I just brought the guy 20 furs for the first skinning quest (well i had to get 24 furs because the quest system is ****ed up too), and now I must bring him 20 more of a different kind?? how is this a tradeskill? all i'm doing is killing the same mobs over and over again, which brings me to my next point

- quest system. quests are repetative and boring (kill x, return. gather x, return)

- skill system. ........... Please. did Funcom design & implement this 30 minutes before launch?

- what is the point of a guild city?

- pvp level does what?

as for the comparison between AoC and WoW's classes, i was simply showing a parallel between the two, to show funcom's lack of diversity. i agree that most RPG's have similar classes, but it seems to me that Funcom has taken most of the mainstream RPG classes and modified them in their spare time.

i notice that a lot of people are getting worked up about the things I am saying in this AoC thread, that obviously, are negative towards AOC. my negative feelings are towards the game, not the players. I just wanted to let everyone know that i don't mean to "harass" anybody (according to psik0.k1m), or hurt anyones feelings or whatever the ****.

If you currently play AoC and enjoy it, then by all means, keep playing and enjoy it! i am simply stating my opinion, along with some facts here and there to support my claim, and that's all there is to it.

If you can't handle that, or can't come up with a mature response, stay out of this thread. Better yet, stay out of OCN.

I actually don't mind this but I know some people, like yourself, do. It's a matter of opinion. I would rather not have everything camped 24/7 and if I get chain ganked, I want to be able to switch instances to avoid it.

- player economy. not once through level 39 (almost half way through the game) did I trade with anybody, check the 'auction house' for anything. Hell i didn't even buy anything from a single vendor! everything is quest given! it's like being babied through the game.

Since the Traders were just recently fixed, I don't think the economy is in swing yet. I have sold a TON of stuff off the traders. Every single thing that's green or better goes into my bank and is sold. I start at a decently high price, and lower it every day until the stuff disappears. I'm touching a gold now at 43 (hit 43 tonight) and that is with me buying a few things off the trader and I have bought tons of pots, food (which I love in this game...food is awesome), and armor/weapons.

The players make the economy, not the company--though, they have to create the items that are used within it. I believe there is plenty to go off now.

- the loot system is utterly rediculus. the only useful items i looted were potions (which can be bought for cheap from a vendor, so they really aren't that useful) the rest of the items i found mysel selling to a vendor for.... guess what? more useless money!

You're mostly right...the loot off normal monsters is just bad. But it's not meant to be good. The way I think of this MMO--forget all the others. The items you attained like in WoW give the illusion of progression, but you really don't need blue gear off mobs to progress in this game. And money is useful for tradeskills, the traders, the guild....etc.

...even in an instance (sanctum of the burning souls, level 37-40) we downed the last boss easily, only to find him drop a blunt weapon that was worse than a quest reward i got at level 30 (from Conall's Valley)

Firstly, Sanctum is the first instance. I also almost got a full set from this place, you just have to go more then once. That blunt weapon you speak of off the last boss absolutly destroyed my hammer from Conalls...You have mis-read the stats or something. I did just get a new weapon from a quest in the noble district though...so.

Gathering quests ARE NOT tradeskills. Tradeskills are like armor crafting, gemcutting, and architect. BTW, you can attain all the materials without touching the quests. I have even collected nodes without the quests. The quests are just for extra XP if you want to do them, I believe. Perhaps there is some cool reward at the end...but to be honest, I don't really have the patients to find that one out now.

- quest system. quests are repetative and boring (kill x, return. gather x, return)

Matter of opinion, IMO. I don't mind them...the quest system isn't revolutionary, though. I don't think an MMO will really ever have a BA quest system...somewhat 'repetitive' quests...seem to be the best option...or would you rather grind. (BTW, you can grind, just have to find the right place.

- skill system. ........... Please. did Funcom design & implement this 30 minutes before launch?

Meh, I don't mind it. The need to put points into climbing is retarded, though. The skills make it so you have to pick and chose whether you want regen, offensive, or defensive abilities...basically.

- what is the point of a guild city?

To be destroyed by other guilds. Until we see some higher tier cities we won't know. I'd imagine there are a lot of benefits the guld receives, though. I know for a fact they can be sieged. I can't wait to take some out myself.

- pvp level does what?

The XP system is currently disabled on it. There is a VERY good reason for this and if you had ever played DAOC Mordred server, you would know. They are letting people get spread out and clearing our the noobie zones so people aren't killed in sight by ever single other player due to the fact there is some reward for murdering them outright.

Within a couple weeks, you will attain PvP XP off killing players, granting you gear and abilities, I guess. Like I said, their decision to turn it off at launch was a good one. It's already a murder fest--if players gained XP off PvP kills at this point...you wouldn't be able to move...

as for the comparison between AoC and WoW's classes, i was simply showing a parallel between the two, to show funcom's lack of diversity. i agree that most RPG's have similar classes, but it seems to me that Funcom has taken most of the mainstream RPG classes and modified them in their spare time.

I believe they are heavily modified. I think if you're a artist (in any form) you can understand this a bit better. Most ideas aren't really original, they are things that one has seen that have been twisted and edited into something that is your own. I am writing fantasy novels currently and I used to flip a biotch when I would come up with some things and realize two months down the road while reading a new book that someone has something vaguely similar in their book. You have to deal with it.

I think the classes are quite inventive and semi-original. I know I haven't really seen much like my Bear Shaman.

lineage1, eq2, ac2, lineage2, coh, RO, wow, DAOC, archlord, EVE, legend of mir, RF online, vanguard, ryzom, gw, tabula rasa, PoTBS, and maybe a few others... yes i have a lot of free time on my hands.

I don't know how I have free time to be honest...but I'm in the same boat in the MMO field, it seems.

Meh...I understand some of your complaints...but others aren't exactly warranted.

Ima just post my responses in the quoted block.

BTW, I don't think I'm flipping out and please tell me if I am. I just believe a lot of things, including this post, are fabricated from our own biased opinions. In the end, you have to try the thing out to see if you like it...and use certain individuals opinions are reviews to perhaps partially guide you're actions.

There are def. places where this game can improve. Just like every MMO, you have to give them time. If you are an MMO fan, and are tired of whatever MMO you're attached to now, AoC will likely keep your interest, at least for a little while (I foresee myself playing this for quite a while...especially since I want to play so many of the classes).

P.S. Excuse any minor errors in this post, please. I read through it again and didn't see any glaring problems, but it's late, and the God of Sleep and I don't really have a good record over the past week. I won't stay in your time wasting realm, you bastard.
