P5NSLI Overclocking :/

Thread Starter 
Alright so i was going to try ocing tonight a little so i see the 5% OC opition so i used and went to test with with Orthos and BAM 20 secs in, error *** so low OC only went up to like 2.2 from 2.1 and got an error:O I was hoping maybe to get 2.6 min but then it crapped out on me. Any help alot people say it is a crap board which it is but I have seen someone on this forums get to 3.0 ghz on a e6600.

Your first mistake was using auto. Tell you what, bump up your voltage about 2 notches then change your FSB to 1500. Leave your ram unlinked.

yea I definitely dont reccomend using the ASUS Overclocking software cuz it is garbage. Try doing it the good ole fashionedway in the BIOS by doing like Betrivent said.

Well Nvidia chipsets are fairly good for overclocking, just the Asus Nvidia boards are horrible lol

Nvidia Chipsets are not bad at overclocking (Have an budget nvidia board in 2nd rig), but theyre not as good as intel P35/X38 based boards.

I have once had that EVGA 680i , only thing good on it is you can unlink the ram and fsb . SLI is no go since you have like almost no profit .
