Shared system memory for my GFX???

So anyone have a clue why this is happening? It's eating up half my physical ram and I don't know why.

Actually it isn't. If you look at in task manager you can see that you can use all of your 4GB.


However I cannot answer why it says that, mine also says 2GB of available graphics memory.

Sorry I got busy after I posted this. I am packing up for Japan. So I went into my Task Manager to monitor my memory usage.

With only firefox open and my virus program sitting idle lower right I'm sitting with less than 1.4gigs of ram available. I'm pretty sure that's very low for what I was doing. Any thought?

Completely different issue than your OP.

The 1.4GB "issue" is due to ReadyBoost. It is using the rest of the RAM to pre-cache programs you use.

The shared memory issue is due to MS doesn't know how to read video memory. Go to Device Manager -> View -> Resource by Type -> Memory. Convert the hexadecimal to ten-base. That's the memory addresses being used by each device.
