Do you have PEGForce X1 enabled in the BIOS. If you do disable it.

I have 3 options related to that. Its basically something about first display device and it has PCI, PEG (x16) and PEG2 (x4). I have tried all 3 settings and it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Yeah, you need it set to x16 (PEG). Did you try the other pci-e slot? Also as people have suggested try Drivercleaner.

The drivers is a good suggestiong but the problem exists within the motherboard or the card itself, not Windows because it causes other strange things to happen with the motherboard.

I have set it to PEG and it does nothing. I will try it in another slot.

Just throwing this out there, might help, might not.

I had a similar weird issue with my 2900's a few weeks back.... blinking card lights. No video signal but mobo booting up.

Turns out I hadn't replaced the cmos jumper properly after clearing the bios. Why that affected the cards I don't know, but after replacing the jumper it's been working fine again.

Hmmm, weird how things work like that. Unfortunately on my card the jumper isn't covered, to clear the CMOS you just touch the two prongs with a screwdriver to short it out and reset it so there is no jumper to have seated wrong. Wish that was it though.

**Update** I gave up and gave in and bought an XFX 8800GT. My 2900XT was getting a little old anyway.
