I really am sorry. I know that OCN has become a place a lot of people don't want to join, because of some of the comments the older members make, and I really had no intentions of being one of "those guys" who jump down people's throats about little things. So, since I offended you, I apologize, and I hope that's enough.

Just trying to clear the air, and get everyone the right information. Just went about it the wrong way. We're all friends, here.
Cool. Thanks for taking the time to say that. Again, I am glad we could handle it like men.

I saw something interesting that I had to comment on, sorry.

The Silverstone OP series IS the DA series (with one exception) with no modular interface. They have the exact same internals. Things get complicated when tossing the Zeus series in because all but the ST56ZF, the Zeus are some of the best Silverstone sells (with the 56ZF just a little bit behind). The OP/DA series OTOH has some near perfect psus like the 650 (better than any of the Zeuses), some not so good like the 850 due to voltage regulation issues and some like the 1200W Seventeam built models that are somewhere in between. The old OP1000 which was built by Seventeam was pretty much as good as the best Zues and the new OP1000-E (built by Impervio like the rest of the 1000W and under OP/DA) is on uncertain grounds since it hasn't been tested yet. It's hard to judge the OP1000-E/DA1000 because it's older sibling the Zeus 1200 is one of the better PSUs Silverstone makes, it's little brother the OP/DA850 has some flaws.

It's so confusing, I know.

I got the Olympia confused with the Strider, I think. Is the Strider their not-as-good non-modular PSU?

Yeah, the non-Zeus Striders are usually the lower quality (but still good) psus and I think that most of the Striders, at least in the higher watt range, are modular. Silverstone really likes confusing people with their PSUs . For each group of power needs, 650, 750, 850W etc., there are usually 2 or 3 options all with varying quality and no real way to discern which ones are the best without memorizing reviews.

Thread Starter
Im not trying to spend Tons of money lol. I just want a modular PSU that can handle 3x8800GTX in SLI lol.. Im trying to keep it as cheap as possible. with the way gas prices are i dont think i could manage any more than this. Im gonna keep the GTX in 3-way SLI for like 3 years./

Don't worry, the Ultra X3 is a good choice.

edit: Sorry I got Mmansueto mixed up with you sublime. I though you are already ordered the X3, but it was him.

The 8800GTX has gone back up in price to over £200 here...

It dropped down to £180 but has gone back up to £230+ again.

Well buddy here is a good newegg list of what I would look at.....
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...nd&Order=PRICE

Of everything there.....I would choose either the SS DA850 or the Corsair CMPSU-1000HX.
