E7400 should be able to hit 3.4ghz with little vcore bump but I got a BSOD after bumping it to 1.3v. 10x340 were my multi/fsb settings. What am I doing wrong? Should I do lower multi or what? Mem is unlinked btw.
could you post all your settings for NB volts, fsb volts, ram volts.

Also I would just start out at your chips VID volts and start bumping up the fsb mhz in 15mhz intervals, then boot and do a short test. Once you fail a test give one bump to vcore and continue. Moving up in small increments should provide better results than just jumping right up to 1.3vcore and 3.4ghz. You may find out that your cpu can do that speed with much less volts than that. Good luck!

Thanks. Will post the info when I get home and can read it. Everything was at stock afaik. THe only thing I bumped was Vcore to 1.3 and got a BSOD. I dropped it to 1.28 and manually set CPU FSB to 1.1 and it booted stable but rebooted in PRIME95 after about 10 min.

I would do the stock settings to begin with, note the voltages on everything in auto at stock, then set them manually to the stock auto settings. Make sure you loosen up your ram timings for now, something like 5-5-5-18-2t and the manufacturers rated volts for them. Once you have a stable OC you can work on tightening the timings up.

Hey guys, thought I'd join in. New to overclocking, have been to 3.8 but had to use 1.4+
volts, backed it down to 3.6, 24/7. Had some bad ram, just using 6400 for now, when I get my 8500's back, I'll see how far I can go.

Well I finally got it boot 4ghz. I do not think this is going to be prime stable. I am not going to use this 24/7 because I don't want to being running 1.45vcore all the time. I will stick to 3.6ghz @ 1.34vcore for everyday use.

I've got a sick Stable Overclock on my new mobo

E7200 @ 4.1GHz (Linpack Stable)
going to try
4.2GHz
then
4.3GHz

On the list of overclock records in the E7### series the highest cpu overclock was the
E7200 @ 6.0GHz i think it because they a binned so low unlike the others
post #249 of 323
E7400 owner going stock with it but the max OC was 4.5Ghz.
