Setting Up 2 Hard Drives

I Currently have two different hard drives I would like to set up as two different directories (i.e. C:\\ and D:\\ Drives) however, when I try to install windows xp it tries to install xp on both drives separately. In other words when I try to boot up my pc it asks me which drive I want to boot off of.

How do I get it to where it will just boot off one drive but yet still see both drives?

Sorry it's a bit confusing but any help would be greatly appreciated!

Try unplugging one of the drives when it's time to install Windows (the drive you dont want for the OS, obviously).

Then, when it's installed and running, shut down, plug new drive in, et voila!

Well, I originally had the 1st one installed then tried to add another hard drive for space. Not same size but I am not trying to RAID them...

Once I installed the second one is when it asked me to install a new version of XP! I just didn't quite understand it but thanks..!
