please suggest which HSF for AMD 64 X2 5000+ black edition 65 nm

Hi, Can you guys suggest which cpu cooler to buy for my new AMD 64 X2 5000+ black edition (65nm)?. I also bought the Gigabyte GA-MA78G-DS3H motherboard. I intend to OC the cpu up to 3.2 GZ (if possible). I hate too much noise though (should be below 30 decibel for sure), so I dont know which cooler to buy.
Please help, your suggestions are very welcome.

This Xigmatek cooler looks nice, and is rated at 20dB - 32 dB...

Maxei, you could also give the Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro a shot if your on a budget. I believe on low speed the fan puts out around 27dB.

Good luck

Thanks guys. Wow! the Xigmatek cooler looks like a big boy. Haven't you had issues with the installation? But it really looks interesting option. I am not so sure about the artic cooling freezer 64. It is inexpensive. I admit it. But I prefer to go sure for efficient cooling. Are you using this cooler, think3r? on which cpu and if possible could you share your temps. That would be nice. Thanks.

I have the AC64Pro and it is the best budget cooler I've ever had and it is S-I-L-E-N-T. I'm in class right now so I can't really check the temps, but on a normal day it's usually ~40C @ 2.6ghz (I have a 4000+ )24/7 idle and doesn't really go much higher than 45-50C on full load with AS5

Well I checked the Xigmatek cooler and people have reported that is really huge, and that it overlaps the memory slots. So this thing likely is not for me. Sorry
Any other ideas or real life experiences that you like to share? Thanks!

Maxei, no actually I'm still using my Thermalright XP-90C from way back. It's still holding up pretty well.

Good luck with your purchase

I consider the AC Freezer Pro 7 and 64 VERY nice for their price, but they're just not high wattage OCing material...

On a semi-budget, there's the Xigmatek HDT-s1283, OCZ Vendetta 2 and Tuniq tower - all within the $35-45 price range (new)... My only issue with the first two is that they use pushpin installation, which although adequate, does not provide nice pressure mounting...

I would personally go for the Xigmatek as the Performancerice on it is outstanding! You can always mod it later w/ a quick lap, thermalright bolt through kit and nicer 120mm fan

Can someone explain me what lap or lapping a cooler means? Do I need to buy some stuff to fit the cooler to the CPU or something? Now I am more towards the OCZ Vendetta, maybe that is a good choice? I am surprised by the few comments I received. Maybe this is not an issue after all? I just want to make sure not to fry the CPU
