Need help with adapter

A freind of mine is trading me his acer travelmate 2100 for my old computer and it doesn't come with an adapter so I need to know if I have to buy and acer one or will any adapter with the right voltage work?

You'll want to find a proper fitting adapter that uses the correct voltage, has the right polarity and provides an equal or (preferably) higher amperage than what the laptop requires
