Hi there,

Apologies if there has been any previous post regarding to this topic.

I have recently put together a new machine, but have a problem installing either XP or Vista. I am trying to install Vista but I received the message "CDROM: Couldn't find BOOTMGR", and when I put my old XP in there, it said "Missing NTLDR". I am really frustrated because the disks worked perfectly fine on my old computer

To help understanding the specs, I have listed the Specs underneath:

ABIT IP-35 Pro
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
OCZ Reaper 8500 2*2GB
Leadtek PX 8800GT ZL
OCZ StealthXStream 600W PSU
Samsung 3*500GB hard drives
NEC ND-3540A DVD drive (from OLD PC)

Meanwhile, I did read about a post (from some forum) for other manufacturer's board and the post in there said purchasing a new SATA DVD drive solved his problem.

Is there anyone who might have experienced this problem and solved it?

Many thanks in advance.

Best regards,
kcg
