I just beat this game in about 20 hours flat and I did a good amount of side missions, I'd estimate about 80 percent of them, I would've done the rest had I known the game was so short. And the amount of items on this game is ridiculous, everytime you kill something you get some ammo upgrade that you already have. I stopped opening lockers and crates about half-way through the game because I knew there probably wasn't crap in them. There are also a large amount of bugs, I've experienced the weapon stays overheated bug and a bug where I was stuck in the mako twice, it would not let me exit so I had reload a save.

Other than that, it was a great game, I actually liked the story even though...

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

Highlight below to read

it leaves you hanging for the next game like Crysis did, you know, you beat one seemingly impossible foe, get ready to kick the crap out of the rest of them and BLAMO game over. Oh and one other thing that had me laughing for about five minutes...the reporter on the Citadel...when she interviews you and you tell her you're sick of her snide comments, I said that to her and he decks her in the mouth!!! I did not see that coming and was almost in tears it was so funny!!!

I wish the Mako combat was more challenging. The cannon kills most things in 1-2 shots and enemy rockets move sooooo slow. More diverse enemies would be a nice and FASTER ELEVATORS!
If you want more challenging, hop out of the mako whenever you are in combat. You get WAY more experience and it is... well it's exciting trying to take down a geth collosus with an assault rifle .

I'm an infiltrator. I don't know how far I am (just saved the Prothian expert blue chick) but I just feel I am missing something. I wish they had a strategy guide for this thing already.

I have the Prima strategy guide, and it's great. Or you can go somewhere like gamefaqs.com for walkthroughs and such.

I'm usually not into RPG's, but this one was more of a FPS/RPG, so I tried it out. Being the FPS gamer I am, I just like to kill stuff and get through things as quickly as possible. I beat the game in 8 hours, doing almost none of the side quests. Even doing it that way, I felt like it was a good game with a lot of depth. Maybe I'll play through it again as different class sometime, I don't know. I tend to get bored of games very quickly.

Actually, I started as a soldier, then restarted after 3 hours and played through as an infiltrator. I did however, quite enjoy the sniping.

That said, the perk of being an infiltrator is the cooldown bonus to the pistol, so you can hammer away at enemies with your little popgun and actually(for the most part) do a decent amount of damage (though that might've been the assault-rifle-toting hoodlums I took around with me too).

I quite fancy trying out the biotics (didnt use any biotic folks on my first play through), or maybe the soldier again, though I can't think of a situation where I'd want to use a shotgun over an assault rifle.

I just started over and am already taking in more than I did my first go. Instead of an infiltrator, I am going the biotic route. I think the class is called Vanguard. Tell you what, I am having more fun this way. Slamming guys with telekinesis stuff and basically traded the sniper rifle for the shotgun when comped with the Infiltrator class.

So far I'm liking it. I went a little too fast the first time I played so I am trying to do more of the side stuff this time.

Ah forced some AA on it and wow!! Shame it kills my FPS - thanks 8600 series!

Incase it hasn't been mentioned, easiest way I found was to use the nvidia bioshock.exe profile, and set it to override AA settings to whatever you want. Rename masseffect.exe to bioshock.exe and run it direct from that executable. Easy.

Have both exe's shortcutted on my desktop, for when I'm in a Fraps/background harvesting mood.
