Mass Effect PC Thread - Page 36

Thanks for posting those, using the one with Nihlus and Saren as my background on my lappy.

I just finished ME! I really enjoyed the storyline and some of the environments; and the experience was like playing through a movie.

The combat is still stupid (sticky auto-cover, and the irritating aim-assist) and the inventory management is beyond lousy, but that did not detract too much from the overall game. I wish they would de-consolefy the ports when they make their appearance on the PC. I really don't like the auto-cover system...it's too sticky.

I played as a soldier and picked Liara and Tali as the crew, so it was a well rounded team...combat was ridiculously easy towards the end, especially CQB.

I really hope they fix the inventory and combat for ME2. But on the whole, I'd rate the current game a solid 8/10.

You can turn off auto aim, I did, and didn't really have a problem with the cover system, it wasn't nearly as intrusive as, say, GoW. But to each his own.

Out of the classes..... I think Soldier/Biotic + Ashley + Tali is the best balanced combo.

Generally, AI-controlled Biotics aren't that effective since Biotics require line of sight. Tech skills generally do not need LoS so AI can use these skills more effectively. Biotic skills take a bit more timing to use for full effect. i.e. Throw is more useful when enemy cluster is rushing and you need space. Or use Lift against the fast mover or far away sniper. Tech support attacks are overheating weapons or disable shield/skills... these can be used more anytime in combat.

Ashley tanks with Assault Rifle.
Tali sits back to use Techs and shotguns anything that gets close.
You shoot and support when need with Biotic lift/throw/heal.

How do you turn off the aim-assist? I am going to start my second run through the game, and I'd like to play with it turned off.

I haven't played GoW and if the combat in that is worse than ME, then I have no intentions of doing so.

It is one of the options under Settings. Try the game on Hardcore or Insanity mode with no Aim assist.... much harder!

Yep, it's under options.

And I do suggest picking up GoW PC if you haven't played it for 360 already. Great game.

I was actually pretty surprised and pissed off that you can't land on Earth and explore it.
