Mine was also a 'budget' build. As in, still within the budget the OP stated.

well, i stayed with 1100 and under, i tried my best to not go above. so my "budget build" was 900$, and he can buy a monitor and other component with the rest of his money. i also stick with the idea that he wants 3.4 ghz, and im sure that the rig i posted is capable of that.

I'm not saying your build is bad. There were just a few different/extra things that I provided that I believe the OP could definitely benefit from and still stay within his stated budget.

Plus, if you subtract the OS and Monitor from my build (which you didn't include), the total is ~$900.

you can get a fan with 2 intakes, and 1 exhaust.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowIm...e+Panel+Window

From my past experience, ATX mid tower have better air flow... not much space for watercooling kit, base on your wiring i guess....

and full tower cases.. are... it kinda trap heat on the top.. if there is no fan there.. even with 2 exhaust.

Airflow for cheap [also... it would be noisy with that much fan]
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119152

Green LED, plain and simple... but 95$ [plain and simple as in air flow.. intake and exhause..]

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811156098

Antec 900, many people have this, it comes with 3-4 fans.. i forgot.. keeping in mind, each fan is about 20$? so thats 60$ on fans.. and there are 3 switch connected to the fan, so you can go from high to low.. base on what you want.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...pk=antec%2b900

Theres not much case i can find.. =| not much of a case fan

I'm not much of a motherboard person, but i have a feeling this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136043
have lower NB temperature, because of the additional heatsink.
Also. i remember seeing the same board with another pci express slot for higher price, and im sure this board is just a replica of the other one, except with 1 pci express slot.

anyhow, DFI motherboards are great boards.

Is G.Skill 2GB memory dual channel better than 4 GB memory ram I have in my current OEM(DELL)? From reading the forums, don't vista system need 4GB of memory to run high end games? I feel 2GB memory is too small.

As far as i know, 4GB of memory is good for people the EDIT and encode stuffs..

2gb gskill is better for gaming and overclocking, and it won't break as easily.
I had 2gb of cheap PNY memory, they broke within 1 month, because i was stressing those 2 gb memory too much by overclocking it by merely 5mhz.. =\\

you can buy 4GB of memory, for probably 50$ more, you can buy 4 x 1gb, or 2 x 2gb... But here is a thing, if you choose an operating system, you'll have to choose a 64 Bit version. Mainly because 32bit and 4gb will only show 2.75-3.25 gb of memory instead of 4gb.

Here is another tip, if you're going for 64 bit, remember to install the 64 bit drivers for your components =)

4gb is a bit more for futureproof and for video editor, so on.
2gb is good enough for gaming and daily use.

with window xp, steam aim open, i use up to 400mb of memory, with games like counter strike source, crysis, need for street pro street.. any of those games open, my MEMORY usage is at 80%.. so i knew i dont need another 2gb.
