As far as i know, 4GB of memory is good for people the EDIT and encode stuffs..
2gb gskill is better for gaming and overclocking, and it won't break as easily.
I had 2gb of cheap PNY memory, they broke within 1 month, because i was stressing those 2 gb memory too much by overclocking it by merely 5mhz.. =\\
you can buy 4GB of memory, for probably 50$ more, you can buy 4 x 1gb, or 2 x 2gb... But here is a thing, if you choose an operating system, you'll have to choose a 64 Bit version. Mainly because 32bit and 4gb will only show 2.75-3.25 gb of memory instead of 4gb.
Here is another tip, if you're going for 64 bit, remember to install the 64 bit drivers for your components =)
4gb is a bit more for futureproof and for video editor, so on.
2gb is good enough for gaming and daily use.
with window xp, steam aim open, i use up to 400mb of memory, with games like counter strike source, crysis, need for street pro street.. any of those games open, my MEMORY usage is at 80%.. so i knew i dont need another 2gb.
