2.5Gb DDR2 RAM laptop.. IS this normal?

ok i has a HP Compaq 3614au laptop
this machine run on amd turionX2 1.9ghz
the stock ram is 512 and i upgrade it and plug a 2gb apacer on it directly without unplug the 512 stick.

is it ok? well it run well....

Its fine. If anyone comes and tries to tell you to get 2 Gb and go dual-channel I wouldn't listen to them. Its been shown that the added bandwidth doesn't matter.

o.0.... dual channel DOES matter, and infact it is a huge difference in a laptop, but it will be fine. In your case, the difference between 512 and over 2gb would warrant the upgrade without having dual channel.
