[CNN] NY Judge Finds Dell Engaged In Deceptive Practices - Page 2

OWNED! Bout damn time Dell got what they deserved. Dell ripped off my mom several years ago (she didn't listen to me when I told her no Dell) and she'd probably be part of this settlement if I hadn't dealt with them myself. She went through them, ordered one of the custom configrued machines, all that BS... and half the specs she ordered weren't what she got. No dedicated video, weaker proc, less ram, smaller hard drive, the whole thing. So I went on their site, configured what she DID get, called them, and eventually got them to pay back the difference plus and extra hundred bucks or so.

I won't be surprised when companies start excluding NY from any type of financial assistance. NY is the worst when it comes to financial law suits.

Blah! Whatever! I'll ALWAYS buy Dell(or Alienware) Laptops until I die or they figure out a way to "kit" a laptop assembly for computer builders.

And Before I ever built my first I've been buying DELL and they NEVER messed up an order on me. So it's your bad luck with the company so don't blam them just because you had a single bad experiance! There will always be mistakes! They took accountable for there mistake and did EVERYTHING to make it right by your mom and you so don't hate them for a mistake.

But in the case listed above... Damn.. Dell jacked some stuff up, but sense it wasn't to me and all 3 of my laptops i ordered for family are beautiful. I'm still there fan.

We are confident that when the proceedings are finally completed, the court will determine that only a relatively small number of customers have been affected.
1% of 1,000,000 is still a large number of people to screw over and I'm sure that in years past they have had much more than 1,000,000 customers.

You CAN build a laptop, it just isn't cost-effective at this point in time.

Oh, I had to fight with them for about a month to even get the DIFFERENCE paid back to my mom. They started hating me when I'd call em and immediatly ask for a manager/supervisor and "chat" with them for afew hours. Eventually they just caved and said fine, and I kept calling them until they gave back the other 100 for the crap we had to go through. I'm currently Lead computer tech at the local Circuit City, so my mom FINALLY beleives me when I tell her something about technology, lol.
