So much for the engineering students...

I guess we have to build it ourselves?

I'm very happy with my Vostro 1500, even if she's a bit fat on the corners.

I just got quoted (literally just now) on a T61p following specs:

I would like to see any of those laptops beat those specs at that price.
Agreed!

I was thinking the same thing... No one I ever saw had a laptop out while doing an experiment.

Uh, what?

http://www.overclock.net/mac/307264-...y-macbook.html

I only focused on the heatsink, but I coulda done more taking-apart if I wanted to.

Also:

http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/ for guides on how to take apart each individual component of any Apple computer (most of them, including the laptops).

LOL at the chemistry one.

In a lab, you have the working lab and the dry lab. The dry lab has all the computer and other machines and NO experiments are done there.

So why do we need the gigantic Toughbook?

Your Major: Computer Science. For a PC that uses Linux or another operating system that apt Comp Sci majors can hack, we suggest the super-sleek, ultra-mobile HP 2133 Mini-Note PC. Its 3-pound, compact design makes it effortless to cart around, and its clever keyboard design makes it easy to use despite its small size. And you can't beat the price tag!
Wait a minute
a sub 9-inch laptop for my big hands (I'm 6 foot 2')?
maybe I will write one line of code every 3 minute on that small keyboard

15.4' FTW

Hmmm I think this whole article has more lol value than actual factual information. Gotta love how they say, "Comp Sci majors can hack, we suggest the super-sleek [super-geek implied]............"
