So I'll be going with a Q6600 (maybe 6700, not 100% yet). Since I only use my rig for gaming I think it will suffice for about a year. Then I'll start looking at the O6600 (8 core! Ha!Ha!)
If you're gaming, and are only planning on having this processor for a year, save some money and get yourself an E8400. It's cheaper, it will clock higher, and most games today won't touch more than two cores anyhow.

At first I was thinking that my E6600 would last me "long enough". But come on now... look at what site we belong to! OCN! This site would not exist if it weren't for the "well of course it runs, but I can make it faster!" mentality 98% of us here have.

In my opinion most games today don't even touch the 2nd core... but I know that some games are utilizing more then just one core and more games are coming out that actually take advantage of that.
