Q6600 with Arctic Cooling 7 Pro

Thread Starter
I just got a Q6600 from a fellow OCN member and am going to overclock that sucker a good bit once I get my new DFI board.

So my question is:
How well is the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro going to cool the Q6600? I am going to get water cooling, but not for about a month.

Thanks guys.

It will be okay, don't expect to get much of an overclock with it though.

wrong

From experience I was able to get stable 3.6 and keep it under 70c with a lapped Q6600 and my lapped AC7FPro.

Except that neither his freezer 7 nor processor is lapped and 70*C is quite high for a quad. Nonetheless the Freezer 7 pro is a good cooler.

My freezer 7 is lapped

and so is the processor

I don't expect a huge OC, but it should be fine until I get water cooling

I assumed incorrectly
In that case it should suit your needs for a while until you can get your water-cooling together .

I have one now and it works great, best price vs performance cooler out imo. I can reach 3.6 with a load of 66 and idle of around 40. At 3.0 with stock voltage I have an idle temp of about 30 and a load of 50.
