Upgrading from Antec 900 to... what?

I didn't want to take over various other Antec 900 posts with this question...

I currently have an Antec 900 and I love it - size, looks, cooling - it's a nice little case. I've been running dual 8800gtx's in sli in it for about 6 months, and while it works, that means I can't use 2-3 of the HD bays because the cards are in the way. Also the cable management is abysmal with lots of hardware.

The problem now is that I'm looking to add another HD and it doesn't really work out. Given the mess of wires and such anyway, I'm looking to upgrade to a larger case, but I'm not sure of what to get.

The Antec 1200 is attractive since it's basically the same case, only larger (and cable management is much easier!), but I'm wondering if it would really be effective. Most of the size increase is in height, but in this case depth is the problem (gfx cards sticking out too far). The 1200 only adds about an inch in this direction, so I'm wondering if I would still have a similar problem.

I also like the Coolermaster Cosmos 1000 - nice looking case, tons of room, seems popular. But I'm a bit concerned about the lack of cooling, and how possible it is to work around that. I know the Cosmos S adds tons of fans, but I'm not a big fan of the downgraded HD cage, and reports I've seen make it sound like all the fans don't actually improve cooling over the 1000.

If anyone can give me some input on any of these cases, or offer up some other ideas, I'd be grateful. Overall size isn't too much of an issue (but nothing bigger than the CM1000, oy!) and I'm flexible with cost. Mostly just concerned about internal layout needs and decent cooling, and of course, quieter is better but not first priority. Thanks!

I think the Thermaltake Armor seems like a real nice case, you should look in to that one.

But would'nt it be easier for you to get a external hardrive, i mean you already have some really fast drives.

might wanna try these, then you can get rid of the Icages in your 900 which take up a lot of space. Otherwise Thermaltake Armor is Awesome. another case that looks nice is the Cooler Master Stacker 830, someone is selling one used in the For Sale Thread.

I considered it, or I could mount an HD in one of the 5.25 bays, but...

My PSU and mobo recently decided to jointly commit suicide, so I'm already going to have to completely disassemble everything. I figured it would just be easier to get a larger case that gives me more room to work with and that won't be massively clogged with cables, and that will easily accomodate upgrading etc for the next however-many years.

even w/ 2 long vid cards, you should be able to fit 4 hard drives in that case. I have 3 in mine. 2 Raptors in the top bay and 1 WD 640Gb AAKS in the second bay.

Lian Li V2000 if you have the green. If you don't then look into an Ultra Aluminus or an old Cooler Master Stacker 810.

Yes, If you really want to upgrade cases, the Cosmos is awesome. Plenty of room, the cooling is better than the Armor if you just take the fans from your Antec and replace all the stock fans. I fit a Thermochill PA160 and a 120mm fan between the 8800 GTX and the hard drive cases. If your concerned about HD cooling, which you should be, just fit another fan in there. Theres plenty of room to fit one.

Pfft. I say you get a Dremel and get creative with your Nine Hundred. That's what I did for cable management. And if you don't mind relocating your hard disks you should have no problem with your video cards. But I guess if you have your heart set on getting another case, I would seriously look into one of the higher end Silverstone cases. I have always promised myself that the next case I buy will be a Silverstone. I nearly poop my pants every time I see a TJ09 or a TJ10.
