those temps are fine. Trust me, you don't even wanna know how high mine have been

plus, you have to realize that nothing else is gonna get it close to that. Intel rates the chip to 72c, and I'm sure that's a little conservative (note that none of the cpu temperature measuring software out there is completely accurate. But that's a completely different issue)

I'm sure that you'll get 3.6- 3.2@1.3 is VERY good- i need much more than that!

It's so weird overclocking to 3.6, I seem to have alot of issues 3.2 is so easy and my voltages relfect what I put in. For example on my mother board

Set voltage:

1.45v Vcore
1.3v fsb
2.125v Mem
1.3v NB
1.5v SB
1.2v HT

Current Voltage:

1.38v Vcore
1.3v fsb
2.125v Mem
1.3v NB
1.5v SB
1.2v HT

When OCin to 3.6g Every voltage I set in bios, shows up correct under current voltage except for my Vcore. I have to set my Vcore to 1.50volts to get it to show 1.44volts under current voltage. For 3.2g I set it at 1.365 and it shows up as 1.31 and I can run prime all day with no errors. I have tried all voltages for 3.6g and the only one that will allow me to do a long prime test is 1.5volts but its unstable after 30min of testing. So when I get home I think i'll have to adjust the voltage on the FSB or NB. I'm not sure what to set HT..

It's called vdroop, totally normal.
There are however, ways to minimize vdroop.
Some boards have a built in feature and some boards there are pencil mods for.

I ran into a similar problem with my setup. Not a 780i but an Asus P5N-D 750i /w E8200. My board has instability zones. In these zones, no matter what I do, I just can't get any stable settings. I have problems with 3.6ghz, 3.2ghz and 2.8ghz.

At 3.2ghz I had my vcore voltage as high as 1.45, HT 1.5, NB 1.5, SB 1.6. Yet my system was still unstable. While my current 3.5ghz is stable at : vcore 1.35, HT 1.4, NB 1.4, SB 1.5.

This may not be your problem but, my suggestion is to go 3.5ghz first for a stable setting. Then work from there to your goal.

Great point, he might be in one of them there FSB holes.

@ tool, have you increased you nb yet?

I haven't increased it at 1.44v, but I have tried 1.4v NB and 1.4v fsb for a vcore of 1.365v all the way up to 1.44v. I was trying to start off with small voltages and work my way up. Once I tried 1.44v Vcore the system seemed stable with the NB at 1.35v and fsb at 1.3v and after 30min of testing I come back to the computer and it had restart itself opened up the log for prime and it recorded one error. Temps got to 68c so idk if thats what caused it to restart or the error. Anyway no i havent tried NB 1.4v or FSB 1.4v with 1.5v/1.44 actual Vcore yet.

@grunion, ok man got it stable at 3.6g although Im not sure if adjusting the fsb or NB made the difference or adjusting both at the same time. I will test lowering one of the two tonight though, and see if im still stable.

set Vcore at 1.50v Actual is 1.44v though
set fsb 1.4v
set 2.125v memory
set NB 1.4v
set SB 1.5v
set HT 1.2v

I tried everything under 1.5vcore and I get errors in prime.

Tell me exact details of what vdroop pencil mod will do for me please please please
