I'd say (from my own ignorant viewpoint) 40's ok. My X2 5000+ is only 85w,compared to your 125w, and I'm idling at about 36, peaking at about 58 (on orthos) (Dell cooling ftl).

Given the greater power draw = more heat (correct me if I'm wrong) I'd say 40's not bad going, though keep an eye on what max temps are under load, I use CPUID Hardware Monitor, http://www.cpuid.com/hwmonitor.php which was your first screenshot I believe - simply because it has a max-column. Get your game on, and leave it running and see where it peaks.

So long as you don't push 65 degrees, preferably under 60 when under load I wouldn't worry.

Your temps are ok but.......for the love of god flash back to 804.You'll have to use a floppy since all the bios after 804 wont let you downgrade.1001 and 1103 suck just as bad as 904 and you don't want anything higher than 804 with a 6000 or 6400+.

Look at your voltage in cpu-z.I hope it's wrong but if it aint it should be no more than 1.4 and not really that much at stock.I don't even run that much on my 6000+ at 3300MHz and my temps are idle 28/26 and load 45/43.

the voltage for a 6000+ is 1.35v - 1.4v per AMD

I run 1.42v at 3300MHz but as you can see I don't have any heat issues.

I know when I run my 6000 at stock it will load and stay stable at 1.35v wich is what yours should be running at if your not overclocking it.

I have an extra bios chip I use to flash new bios with and I have tried both 1001 and 1103 and they are both no good for an x2.The best stable bios for X2s are the 804 for 6400+ and below and for a 6000 the 702s are a good version to.You can't change the memory voltage with 1001 or 1103 and as for the cpu voltage I don't know.I didn't try because I pulled the chip as soon as I started having problems with those versions.I know alot of people on the crosshair forums have killed their boards with 1103 and had major problems with both 1001 and 1103.The main problem with them is after the 804 they changed it so you caint downgrade back to a lower bios without flashing with a floppy.
