Well as I've seen my computer use 3Gb RAM before, it's instantly justified.

You odviously do not know what your talking about.
If you have Windows Vista it is well worth getting because Vista uses more memory to load things faster, but if you have 32-bit you will only be able to use 3.5G of your memory instead of 4G.

I use vista 64 bit and when I play gears of war in dx10 fully maxed it uses up to 3.5gb for me.

Do you Use your computer? Do you often have enough programs in use to need more then 2GB?

If so you shouldn't even need to ask...

actually if u have more available memory the os will use more-it optimizes itself t fit the system so currenty being at 2gb i dont know how my computer would run at lets say 4gb

the same applies to 64 bit os's because they use memory differently performance is different

On my g15 keyboard, it shows me CPU usage as well as RAM usage.
Other than that, I do not know but am sure there programs for it.

Adding 2 gb of RAM noticeably increased my framerate in games, including Bioshock, Company of Heroes and UT3. Fraps and other in-game frame counters confirm this.

I went with 2x2gb, rather than 4x1, because my board has an easier time with 2 slots filled, as opposed to 4 (like, for example, less volts needed for SPP to run 2 sticks). It seems like that's the case with nvidia/Intel boards generally.
