Testing Fan's and shroud's 480 GTX

I wanted to know wheather it makes a big difference having a shroud on a fan.Is a dead spot on the front of the fan.So I figured id load up my system with 5 accounts of EQ II and see how thing's work.

I used Scythe S-Flex 1900rpm 35dba 75cfm

YS Tech 2800rpm 45dba 125.5cfm

For shroud's I just used gutted fan's.

I left my rig running for an hour to build up some heat.

First up Sflex Pull,2inch shroud, and a Sflex exhaust.

Took off the Sflex exhaust.Let it run about an hour.

Had some YT fans around that got to be to noisy for me.Love the amount of Air they move though.Unfortunatly I broke one and had to sub it out with one of the S-flex.

You can see the broke one on top and the replacement on the end.Id have like to do it with exhaust also but dont have that many YT's around.

I put back on the Sflex alone with out the shroud.I wished id have let it go another 30 min.Wife was rushing me to dinner.

The best i got with a push-pull with shrouds was 3.something better then with no shrouds...I was using a TEC, but it was all tuned down for a total of 320W heat dump....About like a quad with a hot GPU in the loop...

I was using shallower shrouds to, that 2" you were using probably explains why you were getting a 3C drop with your shrouds...
