Foxconn are really on a mission to gain much attention from the masses as Computex closes in. We've seen a couple of very promising motherboards launched by the quickly growing company this week already, and now we see a third and even bolder offering added to the mix to keep with the momentum.

Catering to the high-end AMD enthusiast crowd (as small as it may be), the first AMD based "Quantum Force" series motherboard is officially upon us. The Destroyer is based on NVIDIA's 780a SLI MCP with support for all the latest Phenom processors and carries with it HyperTransport 3.0. SLI users will be mighty content with this board thanks to the four residing x16 slots, providing up to 3-way SLI support with headroom to spare.

You can find a complete rundown on this feature-rich board's characteristics within the official PR here folks.

Yantai, China, May 29 2008 – FOXCONN today launches the first AMD platform motherboard in its highly-successful Quantum Force product range. Destroyer is based on the NVIDIA® 780a SLI MCP and supports the latest AMD Phenom™ processors along with socket AM2 Athlon™ and Sempron™ CPUs. It supports HyperTransport™ 3.0 technology, which dramatically increases available bandwidth between CPU and other system components.

“This is the first Quantum Force solution for the AMD platform, and we are certainly very happy with the result,” commented Greta Kuo, Quantum Force Product Manager. Kuo claims that Destroyer will “push the envelop of AMD desktop performance”, thanks to innovations like the Quantum BIOS and extended heatpipe solution which helps to remove heat from the northbridge through a radiator fitting that can be extends beyond the motherboard.

OMG freaking finally an nVidia based AM2+ motherboard. I've been waiting since it's release to get one of these. I'm buying this on day 1.

8 SATA II ports, 2 firewire, 12 USB 2.0 (doesn't say if it's solely on the motherboard or not but there's 8 ports on the rear I/O panel but only 1 PS2 port. 4 PCi-X 2.0 slots, 7.1 channell HD audio, only 8GB max RAM but does support 1066 with Phenoms. Even comes with a fan to put on top of SLI cards to improve the air circulation.

Not really sure what the Quantum Bios is but i'm guessing it's their names for the bios GUI. Doesn't have Dual Bios though but Gigabyte should be making a release of this board sometime soon.

This still is not gonna take a Phenom past 3.0 Ghz for majority. Fail.

Why Would they do that? Cut off a large part of the market just because AMD-ATI? You gotta spread your business too all platforms for a wider range of productivity. Just means that Nvidia will be able to have a part even if AMD profits in the beginning.
i guess i didnt phrase that right. im not against them doing this, was just surprised because its been forever (with the exception of 4x4 but that hardly counts) that nvidia has released an AMD chipset. i believe 590 was the most recent? yes there was 680a but that one didnt really matter a whole lot

Oh Lawd.

Finally-something powerful for all the amd users. I was getting pretty depressed seeing all these beastly new mobos only for intel.

This looks like a promising board for the newer Phenoms. I don't mind having one.
