what part of the computer determines how fast multiple web browser to open and close and be utilized.
Is it the ram or cpu or hd?

I usually have 3-4 firefox open, but what part of the computer makes them run faster, and I am not talking internet speed.
One for email, one for ebay, one for photobucket and another for paypal. I need to maneuvers fast between each other with out slow down.

Well when you first open them their pulled from hardrive space but once you have them open their in ram aslong as you have enugh ram. Cpu does everything you do on the computer so whatever you do in firefox the cpu processes.

It depends on the browser, then the CPU, then the RAM.

Edit: On your computer, you should be perfectly fine. IF you want it to go faster, try switching to Opera.

Yes your right, I just got this rig moving up from a celeron D and its unbelievably fast doing the above mentioned task. As if its almost instantaneous.

But now I need a laptop, so I am wondering if I should skimp on the CPU or not since I am on a budget. But I will be doing the above task with the laptop as well.

Also you can tweak firefox and most other browsers to send more than one request to a server to access it faster, kinda like trying to connect multiple computers to a website at a single time, only it's just one computer. But the only problem with that is it can bog down the server it self causing others to slow down. I use this method only when im browsing anywhere other than OCN, because I love this website and don't like others to be slowed down, and because everyone should be able to see new news fast
