Qx 9770

Thread Starter
I was thinkin about buildin a new rig for quite some time now and had my mind settled on Q6700.The thing is that a friend of mine told me yesterday that he can get me the QX9770 for around 750-800 $.
So the question is would you go for it for this amount of money?

you are paying a premium for the unlocked multi. i wouldnt really recommend an X series for a home pc unless you are going to OC the heck out of it with really good cooling. ive seen some crazy results over at XS with the X series.

honestly, a Q6600 or Q6700 would be good and cost less then half of the QX

oooh...or buy it and resell it

I would buy it if I could. It really is an amazing deal. It's like getting a Corvette for $30,000 that's brand new.

If you TRULY want that that 3-4 FPS increase at 1280x1024 then go for it...

Otherwise, at higher resolutions, the GPU will almost ALWAYS bottleneck before the CPU in games. A QX9770 will yeld almost NO performance increase over a Q6700, especially if they're clocked at the same speed.
