This one is one of the most commonly used:

Since you are a new builder, once you get all the parts... be patient, and do let us know when you start the build.
A few traps new builders fall into:
1) forgetting the standoffs between the case and the motherboard. I have seen this WAY, and I mean WAY!!! too many times. Result: short circuit and no boot. Fortunately, in most cases no permanent damage, but it's possible you do damage parts.
2) incorretly installed heatsink. Aftermarket heatsinks need to be installed securily. In other words: tighten those screws!
3) No thermal paste, or WAY too much thermal paste. You only need a little bit, let's say the size of a grain of rice (uncooked... the rice I mean, not the thermal paste).
