If the Dual Cooler can be used for the step-up program that I dont see the point to not get it. It will save me $10.

32MB cache and 16 B cache isnt that different? Then maybe Ill just go with that 320GB HDD and save another $10.

As for the CPU, You dont think I would be able to get to 3.6 with the Q6600? If I went with the E8400, how high do you think I could get?

with current bins of the Q6600: nope, no 3.6GHz.

with the E8400: 4.0GHz should be easy.

I've never seen that case before, but it actually looks quite good. I think that's pretty much the PERFECT build for that budget- I would go with a tuniq 120 or TRUE for the heatsink, but that's all I'd change. That's seriously exactly what I'd build.

note: the q6600s that are coming out right now mostly kinda suck. I'd try to get a Q6700- if your budget it tight, you might want to look at a Coolermaster 690 case to save a few bucks toward the cpu. Another option is to buy a used, proven Q6600 (but don't take the best one 'cause i'm looking )

the Ximatek is right up there with the TRUE and Tuniq Not a bad choice at all

Thanks for everyones opinion, maybe ill just save that extra 100$ if this really is a good build. ive been researching this build for about a month straight! I wont be ordering my parts till mid-end of june so hopefully the new videocards coming out will drop the 8800GT's a bit!
