Slipstream fan question

If everything goes right, I will be buying 4 scythe slipsteam fans.

I was wondering if it would work fine if I used two of these on one fan header(motherboard). They require 0.53 A each, I don't know how many watts that is each.

Basically it would be like this 2 slipstreams>fan splitter>mobo header. If the board can't supply enough voltage for that fan requirements would it handle 2 fans that require 0.41 A each?

Watts = Volts times Amps

I was running my Slipstream [1900RMP] and my Ultra Kase of my motherboard [not the same header] untill someone told me bad idea, and i was getting a fan controler anyhow and they now run off that

Don't know about the ratings that the motherboard should be able to supply, but i wouldn't run 2 powerful fans off one header personaly

Why not just hook them up to your power supply directly with a Molex connector?

I find the Slipstream fans to be crap personally. Airflow isn't impressive given the amount of noise made, and in order to get a good sound profile out of them you have to turn them down to around 1000RPM. I'd pay the extra $5 or so for the S-Flex series any day of the week.

Agreed, the S-Flex series are better than the Slipsteams....and they just released a G model with higher cfm that may be what you need. I have tested and currently use both S-Flex and Slipstream fans. I have 2 S-Flexes as front intake (an F and an E series...both running at 1200 rpm and pretty silent) and a Slipstream 1600 rpm as rear exhaust (running at around 1200 rpm too). When I tested for best temps, the S-Flex F did a better job behind my filter as intake than the Slipstream did. I use the Slipstream as exhause since it is freeflow (no filter). The blade design on the S-Flex is better than the Slipstreams design in a restricted environment. It will all depend on what you will use it for.

As for running 2 fans off of one mobo header @ .53A each, I think you are asking for trouble and may burn out the header. You can attach 2 fans, but they probably need to be pulling less amps combined (like to 80mms @ .25A each). Try to find out on your mobos forums what the max amp capacity is before you try that is my recommendation (that's how I found out what my eVGA 680i could handle).
