Asus P5E x38 Problems! HELP!

Thread Starter
Hi, i just bought an Asus P5E x38 chipset motherboard but am having major problems with it. For one, when i'm installing Vista x64 it will get up to expanding files and then just get an installation error and ill have to restart. So what i tried doing is installing the OS on another PC on to my HDD, but i get a problem saying Error loading OS. So now i have reverted to installing XP Pro, but right near the end when there is like 7 mins left and saving settings, it just blue screens! Any1 help me please?

this is the error code :

***STOP: 0.0000000A (0X00000004, 0X00000002, 0X00000000, 0X804D89FB)

And the DVD+RW drive was working fine before, by mistake i bent the pins of the IDE connection when installing but i bent the back and seems to be working fine

and im pretty sure all the cables are plugged in tight, ill have another look.
