new rig specs
Core2
Nice mobo

I think the PIII goes to show that he/she is fine running a slower CPU. In other words, the popular q6600 is not a necessity. Given that, I would personally spend a little money getting a lower-end Core2, with a decent overclockable motherboard, and a nice video card, and powersupply.

The devil's in the details. I have a Pentium III 650MHz machine that runs fine. Thing is, the motherboard can only take up to 384MB (Maybe as much as 768MB). It runs AGP2X, so the latest video card I can use in it is a Radeon 9700. I tried using a PCI GeForce 6200 in it, but it wouldn't work for some reason (It worked on my 680i board).
