3DMark06

Thread Starter
Hey everyone, I installed 3DMark06 last night on my sig rig and it said I needed DX9. Ok, so I installed directX9 even though I already have DX10. Will this mess anything up? So, I ran 3DMark06 and got a score around 10k. Is this low for my system? Is my video card keeping the numbers low? What is a normal cpu score for the Q6600? Also, what settings should I put 3dmark06 on / what tests do I run? Also, should I set it to my normal resolution?
Thanks!

No it wont mess anything up. LOLz
Vista has both DX10 and DX9 on it already. Thats why you can play games in either DX10 or 9. It will not mess anything up. It just updates the version of DX9 on it

Your score seems alright, i had my Q6600 and a 7950gx2.. Q6600 at 3.6ghz, 7950 gx2 at 650/1400.. and i scored 11,000.
If you have a 8800 GTS 512 at stock speed, you'll get between 13-14.5k on 3dmark06.

3dMark06 has the resolution at 1280 X 1024 while my regular resolution is 1680 X 1050. Should I change this? Also, during the CPU tests my FPS was 0-2. Is this normal? Also, should I run the feature tests?

You dont need to run the featured tests. Your score dont seem right to me but maybe it is. The CPU test is made to stress it bad. I dont think even 5fps has beem broken yet so lagging on the CPU test is normal.
With SLI 8800GTS 320mb and this dual core i was able to get over 16,000 i n 3dmark 06.
