Abit ip35-e issues

Thread Starter
I just got a new GPU today, an ATI 2600. Originally I had an Nvidia 8500GT, but the ATI card was only $1.99 shipped so I figured I would go with that instead. My HTPC has been running great for over a year now with the 8500GT. I put the new one in after uninstalling the Nvidia drivers and now I get the POST screen and a successful beep, but it just hangs at that screen. I cannot enter the BIOS or proceed further. I have swapped back to the 8500GT with the same issue.

I have no idea what else to try. I have disconnected everything but the CPU and GPU with the same issue. I have cleared the cmos several times and left the battery out and jumper on for sever hours with the same issue. Is always successfully POSTs, yet will not go beyond that. My OCZ ram requires 2.1v, and one of the sticks will not boot at the default 1.8v, it has always been like that. So I have to remove that 1 and up the voltage to 2.1v and then it runs fine. If I don't do that now I still get the same error beep it has always given me for bad ram, so I know it IS still passing all tests when it goes to POST, because when it fails that test it does let me know. I have also tried some corsair ram I had laying around just to be sure it wasn't the ram as well.

At this point all I can think is to RMA the motherboard, but wanted to see if there were any further suggestions first. Thanks, this is frustrating because it is my HTPC and now I can't even watch tv!!

Have you tried using other components on the motherboard? If you have and it's still not working, I can only suggest you RMA it.
