eVGA RMA experience. (so far BAD)

Thread Starter
Well my 680i-A1 board recently just died from unknown reasons. Sent in a RMA request and because i am APO address they cannot Cross-Ship a board to me. But it took them 3 attempts and a nasty-gram to realize that when applying for RMA it automatically selects Cross-ship instead of standard where u send in the board and they wont send one back till they receive yours. So finally that was settled and they received my board on May 19. I asked them wut the status was on May 21nd and they sent me a reply quoting their Terms and Conditions that it takes typically 2-3 business days before they will process a replacement board. i said to myself ok. fine. May 26th sent an email askin for a status and they said my case was sent to their supervisor for review and will reply to me by tmw (may 27th) with a status update... Well never got that reply either from their supervisor. So i sent another email on May 28th. Today May 29th, they sent me a reply stating my board is being reviewed for possible damage to the board itself. and is marked Urgent. Well i dunno wut kind of possible damage to the board itself can be done but it aint cracked, burnt, or altered.

Sounds like to me they are tryin to scam me out of replacing the board. Its an A1 version which is lifetime warranty. I've had it for less than 1 year. bought in June of 07 and i found it dead May 13th. As fast and good of a customer service team they have, to me, it doesnt mean squat if their work performance sucks. So for all of you who think lifetime warranty with evga is a good thing to shell out 40 bucks more for... think again. I hope im the only case with this horrible process with evga cuz this is pissing me off since my watercooling setup is sitting dismantled rotting away.

That sucks. I had a great experience with eVGA when my 6600GT died. I didn't have mine registered. They did it for me and gave me the label to slap on the box for return. Great. I sent it in via FedEx; it got there in 2 days. Within 1 day of eVGA obtaining it, they sent out the new one. I got back in another day or two a sealed, new-in-the-box 6800XT - one that is unlockable. They also registered this one for me. So they did the work for me as well as upgraded my card. The service was also very fast. Sucks to hear that yours isn't going so well.

I'm sowwy for your horrid experience. Yeah I have experiences like that too....what I like to do is to just give them a call and ask for a supervisor and then give him or her a piece of my mind. I feel like 20 times better after that.

Hell when Gigabyte had my board, I called them everyday and got a different story everyday so at least your stories are consistent. But call and ask for a supervisor and ask him what's the problem and then explain their ToS states 2-3 days and you're loosing something like 4 grand a day because your machine is waiting for it's motherboard that should have been shipped out already.

I know....I'm bad but I don't like waiting

Ahhh.. just CALL EVGA right now: 888-880-3842

Someone will be able to put the replacement motherboard on the truck that day. However, it is late in the day and last truck is gonna be out the door soon.
Once again...

Just relax, it sounds to me that from the time of you sending the board to now have only been 10 days or so.

My gigabyte board took 2 weeks before it actually got shipped back to me.

Most companies will try to fix the board first. If they can't fix it, they will send a replacement.

So with that in mind, the time frame will vary case by case.

Well if they couldnt fix it then they should process my replacement board. it doesnt take long to look for physical damage which is what they told me. The BS is that they JUST started to look at the board after 1.5 weeks after receiving mine which i prioritied and it got there in 3 days. Their terms and conditions states 2-3 business days. I would love to call them if it didnt cost me so much since im overseas. If it was just the mail people delayin then i understand but they havent started even lookin at my RMA case till i started bugging them. Maybe i should be like all the other people and try to sue them and make some quick money for their violation on terms and conditions agreement.
