Got it and it already died.
Na i'm just kidding did have a issue but i'm not sure if it was a bad driver or gigabytes easy tune 5 since as i was installing the driver i hit the over clock button on easy tune5 and got a lockup. After a restart i'd get a blank screen at normal start or safe mode but going into the bios it was normal. It did show the normal image a couple times but would lockup withing seconds. Since i didn't have much on here yet i reloaded XP and used windows drivers with good luck. Just for good measure i added a 120mm fan to the case also. Doubt if it was over heating though because my cpu temp was around 80°F and the air coming out of the card was cool.
Shouldn't i be able to see the temp of the card? I couldn't find it in the ati software.
Any way half live 2 came with the card so i dled it and ran the test on lost coast and got a 75fps average the way it's set up now. Not sure if that's good or not but after 3dmark06 finishes dling i'll install it and post that score up incase someone else is thinking of purchasing this card. Then after i get everything backed up i'll try some other drivers.
On the drivers has anyone else had that happen and is their a easier way to fix it?
Thanks for the help and sorry for so many questions i'm a noob.
Update: Well i installed the 8.5 drivers/ccc from ATI's site and my scores went down in the HL2: lost coast. They are now at 68.5 fps at default high settings and around 45°C. Here are the results of the 3dmark6 test at 1280x1024 and defualt ccc settings.
I'm not real impressed and almost thinking i picked the wrong card. If i'm missing anything let me know.
update2: Playes far cry in all high setting no aa and 2x anisotropicEdited by junkxp - 6/7/08 at 4:42pm
