WC setup what do you think? (Update: PICS!)

Thread Starter
I'm looking into water cooling the current rig in my sig. Here's the link to the components I've chosen. I'm definitely open to suggestions.
Please let me know what you think!

I would also like some opinions on where to mount the rad in the TT Armor.
I was thinking of putting it in the front as there is a lot of room there. Any
mounting suggestions would be much appreciated as well.

If you're getting a north bridge block, do you have a south bridge cooler and heatsinks for the mosfets?

And since you have a quad, I suggest the d-tek fuzion v2. And why the 3/8" tubing?

Never really noticed any temp differences between 3/8" & 1/2" plus it's easier to make tight bends with. I also plan on putting active cooling on the southbridge. Yes, I will be looking into heatsinks for the mofsets.

Edit: How much will the d-tek fuzion v2 lower my temps compared to the swiftech apogee gt. Is it really worth the extra money?

Not really IMO. I have the Apogee GT and my temps never go over 55C

That shroud will not work with that rad. Thermochill and Black Ice Rads have different dimensions for their screw holes. Also I'd recommend using a better pump.

I'd get the swiftech mcp-655 with speed controller. I don't see why not get the d-tek fuzion if you want to... I think the temp difference will be marginal, maybe 3-4c. Although, i may be wrong... If you're using 1/2" barbs, I've heard from many people that the tight fit of the 3/8" on 1/2" lowers your chances for a leak at the barb by a lot and there is less turbulence around the barb entrance since the ID of a 1/2 barb is around 3/8"
Pretty good setup, but like in OP, don't think you can use the shroud...

I can stand behind the D-tek db1. The pump is strong as hell for its size. It powered a dual block, dual rad loop for 5 months.

Are you sure the Thermochill shroud mount to the BI rad ???

Ran Martin's FlowRate Estimator for you, here's the results:

0.81 gpm

Good Luck...

nice. I have the same rad right here and im planning on getting a second one.

You also may want to get 1/2" tubing
