Altering video settings too much just adds to the problem. Low and Medium settings are bugged. High with these options work better than the default low. hopefully this will get fixed soon.

LOL, was just about to post this exact thing. Turning off shadows and bloom makes a big difference in performance, and forums are saying Low and Medium settings don't work and don't improve performance.
