It can fold, you just won't be getting the 10,000 points per day some are.

Every little bit helps though. I have 1 SMP and 1 graphical client running. I get around 700 points/week with the graphical.

Folding = ?????
In a nut shell, Folding At Home is a program that Stanford uses to try to find cure's for diseases. Stanford sends work units to your computer. Your computer then crunches the data and sends the information back. Each time you complete a w/u you get points. So, with everyone getting points, we make it a contest who can get the most points(who can help the most). Unfortunately one of the side effects are that it gets very addicting. Why don't you give it a try, we can help get you started if your interested.

OCN is faltering

We were on track to dominate 19th a while back... What happened? Did CyberDruid or 455Buick have a power outage or somethinglol
Hi XFreeRoolerX,

And why would you think I had a power outage or something?? I can't speak for Cyber, but...

If you look at the numbers of people folding for OCN, then you'd see that it has dropped significantly...

http://folding.extremeoverclocking.c...php?s=&t=37726

On April 30th OCN had 427 people folding with a high of 448 on May 4th... As of today OCN has only 406.... If you take 42 people times 1,760 that = 73,920 points for 1 day!! This is why OCN is not or has not been doing the same as previous months or weeks...

When you posted this I had 13,185 point day. Those days happen, especially with the new 2665 SMP WU's that take additional time - 5+ hours for only a 160 point gain (1920 - 1760 = 160) ...

I hope this helped, :-)

Earth shattering? My e6750 gets roughly 1700 PPD on SMP, and my smaller Allendale 400 mhz under the 6750's clock pushes 300 more PPD, at around 2000 ppd.

If you really want to get beastly PPD, linux is the way to go.

On another note, we are now on position 20.... ABXZone.com is officially behind and we should proceed to kicking Engadget's arse in a very near future. Keep crunching guys.

I would bet only 1/3 of those were doing SMP, so the point loss is not quite a big, but still, it is a drop. Also, not everybody finishes 1 SMP WU per day. Most of us poor AMD schleps take 30-40 hours per WU (except the 2665 which takes me almost 75)

You also have to remember school is out, so those that may have been folding on their computers on the schools electricity are now back home, either still unpacking or unable to leave the computer on and fold like they were.

Sarcasm at the power outage thing, hinting that some of our best folders make that much of a difference

And wow, I figured some dropped out, but THAT many, wow

I'll get my cores going again, but I'm confused about these new consoles. I need SMP, is the system tray one just as fast as the console?

1700ppd for a quad isn't good at all... if that's all you get, you'll need to check your set up (unless you use that rig intensively for other things....)

I get ~2500 ppd on an E6750 @ 3.69 GHz. A nicely overclocked Quad should score close to 4000ppd...
