What PCI-E Card for Current?

as it says on the tin...
i have been having some funny business with my 7800GS (apg) over the last few days i coming to the conclussion just to replace it!

The PSU Details are as followed:
FSP - Blue Storm AX500
20" cable with a 24-pin ATX connector
20" auxiliary 12V connector for processors that require it
33" cable with two 4-pin IDE drive connectors and one floppy drive power connector
2 x 33" cable with three 4-pin IDE drive connectors
28" cable with two SATA drive connectors
20" 6-pin auxiliary power connector for PCI Express

NOW...
my board does have a PCI-E slot so it will be a PCI-E i will be going for...
(the joys of the Asrock Dual Sata Motherboard...lol)

With my current rig what am i looking for in a PCI-E card specs?
They talk about needing one or two 6-8 pin power adapters with some other kind of connector...
then there are the power requirements...
Not really wanting to go out and get a £150+ graphics card IF my PSU and motherboard can't support it!...then there is the bottle necking...

512MB HiS HD3870 Iceq3 Turbo FullHD,
PCI-E2.0, 2380MHz GDDR4, GPU 850MHz, 320Streams 2xDL DVI-I/HDTV

quite fancied this card - know idea if i can run it though!?
(stupid question - but i am guessing that card will blitz the performance of my current card?)

muchi graciass on any help folks...

Considering you're on a 939 motherboard with a single core CPU...I'd recommend either a 3850 or a 9600GT. Even a 3870 would be okay. You will be bottlenecking any of the newer cards, but its worth it to know your GPU can handle it.

so it would be safe to get a
HIS ATI Radeon HD 3870 XT ICEQ3 TURBO 512MB
That only requires a 75 Watt 6-pin PCI Express power connector?
The PSU i have should run that ok?

I take it the HD 3870 XT will blow my current 7800GS out the water
EVEN though i am still running a 939 single core setup?
