She games every now and then (mostly games from STEAM (CS, TF2, etc) and Gunbound). I'm not really sure what resolution she is going to be using. She also uses the computer to watch DVDs and for homework for school.

I plan to overclock the CPU to around 3.0ghz. Is the motherboard good enough to do that or do I need to get another one. Also, is the power supply good enough to run everything? If there's some tweaking you are suggesting, let me know. Thanks!

Looks good. The power supply should be enough for everything.

Maybe spend a few bucks more and get a E2180 with a higher multi? Everything else looks nice. Oh also, you could get a Asus 8600GT for cheaper i think.

Ok.
Get a cheaper case, if you can.
Spend a few bucks more and get a 9600GT for ~120
RAM, don't get GSkill, it's good performance, but is expensive, get another 30- 2GB kit.
HD: Seagate 250GB for 59.99
PSU: Corsair 450VX for ~50
On the whole, it seems fine to me, but I just don't like the 8600.

The 8600 should be fine if there isn't any hardcore gaming, with my 8600GTS, I can play Crysis on Medium-High at 1280x1024, but i guess GT and GTS does make a significant difference here...

i have this thing against the 8600GT. They so crippled that card. i would try to spring for a 9600GT if you have a little extra funds.

Looks like a solid budget build. One thing, your prices seem to contradict those on Newegg, and I noticed that you were getting the processor and hsf from elsewhere. I bet if you bought it all at Newegg with combined shipping reductions they give you, you would be a little lower in price.

You might want to consider this Zotac 8600GT 256MB depending on what resolution your friend is using. If she runs with 1280x1024 it will perform the same or even 1600x1200 there is not a very big performance gain with going with the 512MB. Even at 512MB with combined shipping I bet you can do better getting that at Newegg as well.

I come up with $491 getting it all through Newegg shipped to my postal code. Do you live in New Jersey of California? If not you will not be paying any taxes through Newegg.

You can find an 8800GTS 320MB online for less than $100. That'll certainly outperform an 8600GT.
