I remember all the bashing Steam got when Half Life 2 first came out and their servers were down. Well, when half the world is trying to install your game, then ya, it's gonna bog down the server. But having game saves able to be kept server side is AWESOME! The only reason I haven't beaten Half Life 2 yet (ya, sue me) is because I've reinstalled Windows so often. Great news.

I wish more people would support Valve for their work with Steam.

It really is a better way to fight piracy. Rather than making the experience worse/more frustrating (anti-copy technology and such), they are making their service BETTER and more extravagant, thus making users legitimately wanting these features.

What other gaming developer has made their own multi-game friends system with tied in stats, playtime listings, groups, all free. Even though Valve is slower than cold molasses I love what they are doing to the PC gaming industry, and other companies need to learn a few things from them.

More reason all of my future game purchases will be on Steam. In the end, I was glad I waited for UT3 on Steam; the Unreal Deal was pretty awesome. Off to play some Trackmania Nations ...

Now if i can use my regular CD keys of games i already own to activate on steam i won't have to mess with a bunch of stupid CDs to play some games and steam will then be perfect.

I believe it does this, perhaps I'm mistaken. None of the games I have on disc were available from Steam except Unreal, but I got that in the Unreal Deal, so I haven't tried it out yet.

Why would you boycott anything Valve does anyway?
