unless your name is fugger or gullible, you probably aren't the targeted market.

No, this is an Overclocking forum.
And if you know your history, you'll know that Overclocking started out as (and still for the most part is) a means to take low-end parts, and get high-end performance out of them, because most overclockers don't have the kind of money it takes to get quads that come at 3.0ghz stock, and video cards that cost 650 dollars.

[H] is an enthusiast forum.

When did I ever claim to have benches or proof? I'm simply speculating. I bet someone that the 4870x2 was going to be faster than the GTX280. I never said it was.
I guess my main problem with people complaining, especially those taking the "ATI is god" approach, is that when launched the 3870X2 was $450, sure it is down now, but this is 6 months later.

I would hope that the GTX260 beats a 3870X2 (if it doesn't then my entire argument comes crashing down) so you get something that performs better for the same price that you would have paid for a 3870X2 on launch. And I would expect it to slow in behind the 4870X2 as the third best card in terms of performance (or third behind the 280 if the 4870X2 is better) in which case, it is $50 cheaper than what the 4870X2 is expected to be ($500), so that is reasonable.

So you may notice that I have only been talking about the 260, because, unless the 280 is the second coming of some sort of deity I just don't see it being worth $200 more. Maybe they are using some crazy voodoo magic.

*NOTE: Obviously all my "performance" guesses are just that, guesses, but I think at least most of them are reasonable, obviously there is some debate as to the validity of that fact.

And as I said earlier, the only way I won't be getting a 260 is if hell freezes over and it provides not performance gain over the 9800GTX (hooray for step-up program!)

I never said anything like "ATI is god" I simply said the same sorts of things you said. I *think* the 4870x2 is going to be faster than the 280 and I *think* its not going to cost as much as some people are saying.

I hate to be a dink, but man... I can say the EXACT same things about your post that you said about mine:

"for some reason, I could tell you had an Nvidia card without even looking, how crazy is that, I am like a psychic or something.

No benches, no proof."

I think this is the point on which AMD will ride the money train with HD4K.
