Help, Leaky res... - Page 3

Okay, I guess I'll give the goop a shot. The barbs have aren't leaking, so I think I can leave the tape for them. I would like a micro-res, but I really can't fit it anywhere nicely with good pressure going to the pump inlet. Something I find odd is coolant is leaking out of the refill port after it is shut off as well. This is odd because the coolant level is lower than the port. I'm assuming the only explanation for this is positive pressure in the system when its shut off, right?

Yeah if its coming out around your fill port, the plug isn't sealing well...Make sure your not cross threading it, sometimes you can add another o-ring to it to stop it from leaking..When your sealed up tight you can hold a couple of PSI in your loop over night...I run a pressure gauge on my rigs and thats the way I can tell that I have them sealed tight...You can back the fill plug out to after a few hours and see if it still has some pressure in it also...

I like the little Swifty micro res, I've used several, but I really prefer a bay res...I have bleeding with one of those down pat..

I love these things..Fill Syringe..They are great for topping off a bay res with-out getting coolant all over everything, I just stick it in the port and push my bay back in so it holds it fairly tight, then I can just squirt a little in at a time as I need to..No muss, no fuss...You might be able to get them locally, I've seen them at Farm & Feed stores here in the Vet department..
