I am ready to purchase a higher level of system than I have now, but not sure what to go with. I am confused as to which GPU setup would be better, the GTx this or that gets confusing. 2 8800 GTx in SLi, or 1 9800 GX2 and then add a 2nd later on. I started playing Age of Conan which is pretty intensive for my lil OC'd 7300GS, and I'd like to be able to run the game to the hilt.

Also not sure of which proccessor is better for gaming nowdays. An Intel Quadcore, or an AMD equal. I'm not planning on spending a HUGE amount, but would be okay to go 1.5k to 2k. I'd be using my current case and drives but might upgrade the PS if I needed to. I think it's a 550.

Any suggestions?

hmmm, this sounds like fun..

Q6600 OEM - 199$

EVGA 750i FTW 189$

EVGA 8800GTS 512 - 239$ - Use it to step up in July to the G280 or get 2 and SLI

OCZ DDRII 800 2X2GB - 98$

Corsair 750W PSU 129$

that brings ya to about 900$ there, 1100 if ya want to run SLI. Use the extra for whatever perif's you will need and maybe a nice LCD Display..

Get a good CPU cooling solution.. Tuniq/TRUE 120 or Water

DDRII 1000 would run underclocked on a 1:1 ratio on the 750i unless by some freak of nature it runs a 500 FSB

Most ddr2 800 will OC to 900 with ease and the board is a good 450FSB but 500 is pushing it IMO..

I cant even post at that..

And lately the E8400's arent doing much more than 3.8 so might as well go Quad
