How do I re-install on an old computer?

Thread Starter
So I bought a couple of old computers and had some donated from friends. They have no disks and were made by local OEM builders. They each have a license for windows xp on the side. If I purchase an xp home oem disk, can i install and use it on each with each of those computers, or do i need a copy for each?

You can use the OEM key from each computer on that computer. If you have access to a copy of Windows you can just use that disk, since the keys are legit for each machine.

The only problem is you may have some keys that are not recognised by whatever disk your using. I guess you could technically call MS and get a new Key for it though.

This is all assuming the computers are still using the original motherboard, since OEM keys are tied to the first motherboard they are installed on.
