Help ericeod decide where to mount the pump

This is my Rocketfish build

I've run into a few snags and have had to alter this build significantly. I've had to ditch the thermochill fan shround because the Thermalright mosfet heatsinks are in the way (the Maximus Extreme has an all in one heatsink for the chipset and mosfets). I've had to pick up a SB/crosslink waterblock so I could run crossfire (the crosslink chip requires a special mounting heatsink, and a WB is all I could find). My ideas are drying up and I need advice on where to mount the pump. Should I mount it on the bottom of the case or the sub floor. Should I move it to the front of the case, or keep the tubing as short as possible etc...

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

I think I would keep it in the upper chamber since your PSU and HDD's are in the lower one, the cooler you can keep your pump the better, less heat dump...

I would put it where ever you need to, keeping the tubing as short as possible is a rule of thumb..A few extra inches of tubing isn't really going to affect your temp's much with a D-5 vario....

I thought you went fishing? Did you catch many?

I just got back Tues from my camping trip. I did pretty good!

I guess I will leave it on the upper level and just put the pump as close as possible to the vid cards.

Thanks Ira-k.

Eric, just a thought. (from the picture) To the right of the pump is a vent below the hard drive bays. If you would be willing to cut a hole in that bottom support piece of the bays just big enough for tubing, you could mount the pump right on that vent. Put a fan on the other side of the vent and you'll get really good cooling for your pump.

Just my $0.02

I picked up a second Rocketfish for $17 (BB gave me a $25 gift card a week before I bought it because I ordered a laptop for pickup and they didnt have it). I am offering up all the extra parts a pieces for those that want them. The top, a side pannel, and the motherboard tray are spoken for. I will be posting a thread for the rest of it.

BTW, I am putting a 3 bay fan and center mounting another fan (on the sub floor) standing vertical to keep good airflow. I am going to have a total of 8 fans.

that's a tough one eric i know u wanna run the shortest tubing as possible, having the pump just outright in the middle of the setup makes it look neh...
i would have it under the flooring. yeah u might have drill and run a grommet of some type but at least it's out of the way of the main components and if u do spring a leak at least it's in the bottom of the case. imo

Yeah, I even sprung for the 360 pump mount, but it looks like I wont even be needing it. I am using a T-line instead of a res, so I dont know if mounting it on the floor (instead of the subfloor) is going to look all that clean either. I'm trying to imagine every single setup in my head to figure this thing out.
