Graphics card Swap?

Thread Starter
Ok, so my dad has his Dell machine with its Pentium D crap and 2 Gigs of RAM, but it can't handle any games.
It has an ATI X600 in it.
My dad stole my computer, but i have a 7600GT sitting around.
Could I swap the 7600 in without issues?

Uninstall the drivers in Windows, boot to safe mode and run either Driversweeper or Driver Cleaner Pro, boot back into Windows and install Nvidia drivers.

You would get issues. Before switching anything, boot into safe mode and run Driver Cleaner Pro to remove your old video drivers.

Pop in the new card and install the 7 series drivers. You should be set.

Ok but at what point do I physically swap the card?

1.) Uninstall the old drivers.
2.) Reboot into safe mode and run Driver Cleaner Pro
3.) Power Down and Insert new card
4.) Boot normally and install new drivers.

I just recently switched from an 8800GT to an x1950XTX, so it's fresh in my memory
