If you haven't noticed, everybody complaining has an Nvidia card.

hey, pcs probably have the least COD4 players compared to people who play PS3/XBOX. They decided it wouldn't hurt to wait a little .

How very sad, Nvidia simply can not pull off DX10.1 (GTX 280 has no 10.1 support) so to even the playing field their making it look worse than DX10 (which ain't bad in the first place).

Hopefully COD5 will be DX10, mabye 10.1, Activision sure can optimized their games and still keep awesome graphics. 10.1 is the way to go if they want an easier road
